SACRAMENTO - Macias Gini & O'Connell LLC, a firm founded by former California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Board Chair Ken Macias, has been named one of the Top 100 Tax and Accounting Firms in the United States.

The firm, a long-time supporter of Latino businesses in California, won the recognition from the industry trade publication Accounting Today. Macias Gini & O'Connell (MGO) is the largest non-national CPA firm in Northern California, excluding the Bay Area. "One of the newest members of our Top 100 Roster, Macias Gini & O' Connell, grew by over 20 percent," Accounting Today said in announcing the selection of MGO to the prestigious list. The magazine cited the firm's 20.27 percent growth rate, ranking MGO 6th overall for the highest growth in revenue.

Macias, who served as Chairman of the Board of the CHCC from 2007 to 2011, is also a leader in the accounting profession, serving as one of 21 board members of the national American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

"Ken is a great example of a Hispanic leader who has reached the highest levels of his profession - and remains committed to giving back to our community to see others succeed and excel as well," said Ernie Gutierrez, Chair of the California Hispanic Chambers Board of Directors. "We congratulate Ken and the entire team at Macias Gini & O'Connell for this well-earned recognition."

MGO was founded in 1987 and specializes in certified public accounting and business management. Recently acquiring San Diego-based Mensch & Associates, the 280-person firm now has offices in several major cities in California including: Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, Oakland, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, and San Diego. In addition to his service with the CHCC, Macias is also a past chair of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

"This is a great honor and recognition for our firm," Macias said. "As a team - now 280 people - we have worked to provide excellent service to our clients.
