SACRAMENTO - Macias Gini & O'Connell LLC, a firm founded by former California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Board Chair Ken Macias, has been named one of the Top 100 Tax and Accounting Firms in the United States.
The firm, a long-time supporter of Latino businesses in California, won the recognition from the industry trade publication Accounting Today. Macias Gini & O'Connell (MGO) is the largest non-national CPA firm in Northern California, excluding the Bay Area. There are a total of 44,000 CPA firms nationally.
"One of the newest members of our Top 100 Roster, Macias Gini & O' Connell, grew by over 20 percent," Accounting Today said in announcing the selection of MGO to the prestigious list. The magazine cited the firm's 20.27 percent growth rate, ranking MGO 6th overall for the highest growth in revenue.
Macias, who served as Chairman of the Board of the CHCC from 2007 to 2011, is also a leader in the accounting profession, serving as one of 21 board members of the national American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The firm and Macias have earned recognition throughout its 25-year history, including the CHCC naming Macias as businessman of the year in 2003. He has also been recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics by Hispanic Business magazine. In addition to his service with the CHCC, Macias is also a past chair of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
