1. Keep adequate records and minutes of meetings to protect your corporate status.

Individuals often decide to form corporations to run their businesses because of the general corporate protection that a corporation may offer to protect the individual's personal assets in the event of legal issues. In order to protect that corporate "veil", Corporate owners are required to hold shareholders' and directors' meetings, maintain corporate records, and document major corporate decisions.

Legislative Day - May 21, 2013
The Annual Legislative Conference provides a forum for participants to engage in the legislative process as well as an opportunity to stay on top of the issues that affect every Hispanic business in the state. Participants of the conference will be able to make a difference in the state's focus and concentrate on priority issues facing small business. 
The Hispanic Population
As Follow up to last month's post about California's growing Hispanic population, CHCC President & CEO Mark Martinez was quoted in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle Stating "It's an exciting time not only for the Hispanic population in California, but for the country, but we also need to be aware of what the repercussions could be if this rapidly rising population is not educated at the rate our job industry needs,". The report predicts the number of Hispanics in the state will equal that of Non-Minorities by mid-year and exceed it in early 2014 for the first time.

SACRAMENTO - The California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, the premier organization promoting the development of Hispanic entrepreneurs and emerging Latino businesses in California, announced today that it has been chosen by UC Berkley's Haas School of Business to conduct a study on Hispanic business in California. 

The study will provide important data about Hispanic businesses in California as well as identify challenges those businesses are facing. 

The study will be done by the Hass School of Business as part of its Social Sector Solutions program, which involves MBA and undergraduate students in partnership with the international management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company. Read More
