Invests in the Future of Hispanic Chamber Leaders

In an effort to help Hispanic chamber leaders across the state better serve their communities of small business owners, the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce recently funded a special program to train local Chambers so they can teach the highly regarded NxLeveL training program.

NxLevel CEO Mike Finnerty conducted the special training program in Silicon Valley for leaders of Hispanic chambers and Small Business Development Center advisors who partner with local Hispanic chambers.

The special training for 30 leaders was coordinated by Dennis King, Executive Director of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Silicon Valley and a member of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Board of Directors.

For the past 19 years, NxLeveL has been providing high-impact, entrepreneurial business planning program for business individuals who want to invest into their business’ future and take it to the “next level.”

“The CHCC believes it is important to empower our local Hispanic chamber leaders with training opportunities such as the NxLeveL program,” said Mark Martinez, President & CEO of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. “This is a great example of how we, as a statewide group, can assist our local Hispanic chambers to help local small business owners around the state.”

The NxLeveL workshop provided Hispanic Chamber leaders with practical, hands-on instruction for advising businesses on starting, growing, and managing their organizations.

“We were excited to be able to bring this NxLeveL program to our chamber leaders and Small Business Development Center partners,” King said. “We were able to provide the support to make these Chamber leaders certified trainers in the NxLeveL program – a great course to teach our Hispanic-owned businesses.”

Participants said they enjoyed the great training opportunity.

“We are so appreciative of the unique opportunity that has been provided by the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,” said Brenna Garcia, CEO of the San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “The NxLeveL Training course has empowered our Chamber to assist chamber members prepare for new business ventures and can even strengthen existing businesses by guiding our members through a curriculum that will help them formulate a business plan and ultimately help them achieve their dreams of successful entrepreneurialism.”

The NxLeveL workshop was made possible through the support of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and the Small Business Development Center Hispanic Satellite. The Small Business Development Center Hispanic Satellite, the first of its kind, addresses the needs of the growing Hispanic and minority small business communities.
