The California Prison Industry (CALPIA) - The California Prison Industry (CALPIA) is a State-operated agency that provides productive work assignments for approximately 7,000 offenders assigned to 5,399 positions annually in California’s adult correctional institutions. CALPIA operates 57 manufacturing, service, and consumable factories in 24 CDCR institutions throughout California. CALPIA is self-supporting from the sale of its products and services and does not receive an annual appropriation from the Legislature.

 

Department of General Services Real Estate Services Division (RESD) - RESD is a full-service real estate organization. Through a diversified team of highly competent and knowledgeable professionals, RESD's highest priority is to fulfill state agencies' facility and real property needs. This includes asset management and planning, property sales and acquisition, project management, architectural and engineering services, leasing and planning, property management and building maintenance, construction management, energy efficiency and supply programs, and environmental assessments. RESD provides opportunities for private sector companies to partner with the State on its many projects.

California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) - Caltrans manages more than 50,000 miles of California's highway and freeway lanes, provides inter-city rail services, permits more than 400 public-use airports and special-use hospital heliports, and works with local agencies. Caltrans carries out its mission of improving mobility across California with six primary programs: Aeronautics, Highway Transportation, Mass Transportation, Transportation Planning, Administration and the Equipment Service Center.

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) - The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) is responsible for planning, designing, building and operation of the first high-speed rail system in the nation. California high-speed rail will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands. By 2029, the system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of over 200 miles per hour. The system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations. In addition, the Authority is working with regional partners to implement a state-wide rail modernization plan that will invest billions of dollars in local and regional rail lines to meet the state’s 21st century transportation needs.

CHCC Procurement Committee

The CHCC Procurement Committee is comprised of various CHCC Board Members, Chamber Executives, Small Business Owners, and CHCC Staff.  The Procurement Committee is designed to:

  • Help facilitate procurement opportunities through outreach and technical assistance
  • Advocate for increased procurement opportunities with public and private entities
  • Develop strategic partnerships with major corporations that have diversity programs and encourage them to establish procurement goals for contracting with minority-owned businesses.
  • Facilitate workshops, matchmaking events and procurement opportunities for for minority business owners,
  • specifically Hispanic and Latina-owned businesses
  • Maintain an in-house database of qualified vendors

CHCC Contract Opportunities

The CHCC has partnered with many of our sponsors to create a list of commodities that Corporate & Government agencies are currently looking for.  It is the CHCC's goal to help these Corporate & Government agencies identify certified and viable vendors for various procurement areas.  Please click on the link below to view current opportunities with Verizon, PG&E, Sempra Energy, DGS, and Bank of America among many others.

CHCC Procurement Development Initiative

The CHCC Procurement Development Initiative (“Program”) will be offered throughout the course of two years. The Program will offer hands-on training on the key elements of what it takes to become a qualified vendor for Corporate and government entities. It provides the tools necessary to build a company’s infrastructure so it can position itself to obtain contract and procurement opportunities within the public and private sectors. This Program will enable Hispanic businesses to develop key skills and qualifications to enhance their capacity and enable Hispanic business to develop key skills and qualifications to enhance their capacity and enable local Hispanic chambers to provide necessary technical assistance to their membership. This Program focuses on major areas in which the CHCC will offer training and programs to increase the number of Hispanic businesses qualified to do business with corporate America and government agencies, increase the number of contract opportunities available, and provide an on-going mechanism to assist Hispanic businesses with procurement issues.
