Roy M. Perez Biography

Roy M. Pérez is the President and CEO of RMP Strategies, Inc., a governmental advocacy and public relations firm. A native of California, Roy was born and raised in California’s agricultural community. Roy’s credentials rise from a lifetime of involvement and execution of comprehensive legislative advocacy and public relations plans. As a college student, citizen volunteer, fundraiser, capitol insider, corporate representative and as CEO of his own firm, Roy has worked with his colleagues within the legislative and public relations/corporate and business worlds to advocate for issues of importance to small business.

Roy previously served as Vice Chairman of the CAHCC Board of Directors, he has also served as the Chair of the Central Valley Region of the CAHCC, and as the Chambers’ Legislative Advisor for approximately 10 years and is personally responsible for many of the innovations and growth achievements of its legislative capacity. Roy additionally has the confidence and respect of LICI, SHPE, NLBWA and as a veteran maintains strong relationship to the American GI Forum of California (Latino veterans and their families) where he serves as Legislative Advisor.

His strong diplomatic skills and commanding ability to create working coalitions between elected officials, the California Latino Legislative Caucus (26 members), Black and Asian Legislative Caucuses, and community leaders, businesspersons, trade union representatives, corporate executives, and members of the media have often served to boost civil rights and business agendas alike.

As an advocate, he capably delivers testimony and representation before the legislature, boards and commissions, he is also keenly aware of the importance of developing representation and speaker training among the citizens. He therefore mentors interested colleagues and students on the legislative process and government function and organization in preparation for their involvement in California’s policy making process.

Roy further increases the advocacy capacity of his colleagues by training and organizing business community members to voice their concerns through letter writing and delivering testimony at legislative committee hearings, administrative hearings, panel discussions, town hall meetings, and press conferences.

Roy is keenly aware of the importance of qualified leadership and has been involved in the election campaigns and fundraising events of numerous candidates for state & local office's and in supporting appointments of men and women to state boards and commissions.
