The CHCC’s Access to Business Capital (ABC) Program was created to provide focus and efforts upon improving the opportunities for minority- and women-owned firms to acquire venture capital and engage Hispanic chambers of commerce in the process to ultimately duplicate efforts throughout California.

What is the ABC Program?

Established in 2004 in Southern California, the Access to Business Capital (ABC) Program is one of the CHCC’ statewide flagship programs conducted throughout California, in collaboration with local Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.

Since its inception, it has developed into a multi-faceted program with a vision to provide business owners and entrepreneurs with additional tools and non-traditional sources of capital for business growth. The CHCC’s ABC Committee has focused its efforts on improving the opportunities for minority and women-owned firms to acquire venture capital.

ABC Program Goals

• Educate the chambers of commerce leadership on the ABC program.

• To improve recruitment efforts for companies that are seeking or are ready to obtain non-traditional funding for the growth of their companies.

• Provide training to entrepreneurs to prepare them to seek venture capital.

• Provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to present their businesses to venture capital investors.

• Advocate for new financial instruments and better, more effective investment policies by government and private investors.

• Recruit presenting companies and train them to make more effective presentations to would be investors using current training process as well as ETP funds and curriculum.
