Wells Fargo and California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Foundation partner to create CHCC Foundation Chamber Stimulus Program Sacramento, CA - Through the generous funding provided by the Wells Fargo Foundation, the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Foundation (CHCCF) awarded five grants of $5,000 each to local Hispanic Chambers as part of the CHCCF Chamber Stimulus Program. The funds are intended for use with a specific program each chamber sees most appropriate with operational efficiency and effectiveness, community benefit, and long-term program sustainability.
“We are very grateful to Wells Fargo for their support and leadership of Hispanic businesses and chambers,” said CHCC Chairman, Ken Macias. “The grants being funded by them are designed to provide sustainable innovative programs throughout California that provide capacity building and technical assistance to Hispanic business owners as a whole. These five grants provide an avenue for community-driven solutions to grow our Hispanic businesses and contribute to California’s economy.”
The five grants of $5,000 each were announced recently during the CHCC’s 31st Annual Convention held in Los Angeles, CA. The grants were awarded to the Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (Fairfield, CA); the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Contra Costa County (Pleasant Hill, CA); the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (Long Beach, CA); the High Desert Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (Victorville, CA); and, the South San Joaquin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (Manteca, CA).
“When we support our chambers, we strengthen our communities and we create an environment where small businesses can thrive,” said Oscar Cabello, vice president with Wells Fargo Community Development. “We know that our local chambers are the front line and completely in tune with the needs of business owners. And those business owners, including the more than 700,000 Latino-owned businesses in California, are the fuel for our state's economic recovery.”
