BIOGRAPHY

 

Ken MaciasKen Macias is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP (MGO), a statewide certified public accounting, consulting and personnel services firm.  MGO is one of the fastest growing CPA firms in the nation as well as the largest majority Hispanic owned CPA firm in the country.  Founded in 1987, MGO is a leading statewide CPA firm with 6 offices and nearly 200 professionals.

Ken has worked in public accounting for 30 years and is a well-respected member of the accounting profession who has earned national recognition.  He has been appointed to several national and state accounting and auditing related positions -- including the prestigious AICPA Auditing Standards Board.  Recently, he was appointed to the AICPA Governing Council.  Ken was recognized as one of the Top 100 CPAs in America as a result of his appointment to the prominent “AICPA Group of 100.”  Additionally, he has been featured in California CPA (June 2002) “Because Trust Matters” and the Journal of Accountancy (December 1995). 

Ken holds several degrees including a B.S. in Business Administration and a M.S. in Accountancy and Taxation from California State University, Sacramento; a M.B.A. in Finance from Golden Gate University San Francisco; a M.P.A. in Management from University of Southern California (USC) and a Doctorate in Public Administration (D.P.A.) degree from USC. 

Ken received the “Businessman of the Year” award from the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce; and Hispanic Business magazine has recognized him as one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the nation.  He received the California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) Distinguished Service Award and the CSUS College of Business Administration 2004 Alum of the Year award.  He was recognized as one of five outstanding California Latino leaders during the 2001 California Center for Teaching Careers Hispanic Heritage Month Campaign “Inspire a Future Leader … Teach.” 

Besides serving on numerous professional committees, Ken is dedicated to serving his community.  His involvement includes serving on Advisory Councils for CSUS and USC Sacramento Center, the California State Athletic Commission as an appointed Boxing Inspector, the City of Sacramento Blue Ribbon Citizens Committee, and the Sacramento Latino Leadership RoundtableHe served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (2004-2005).  Ken was elected as Treasurer (2005-2006), and most recently as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.
